Latest Update – EPFO has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with EPF UAN. The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has introduced many useful online services such as Online PF withdrawal, EPF transfer, or EPF advance withdrawal and the deadline to avail such benefits is 31/December/2017. Still, there are many EPF members who complaints that when they try to update details, they end up with a data mismatch error and mostly this error comes up when the member tries to link his/her aadhar details with his registered EPFO data.
So, sometimes the only option left for an employee is to update his details in Aadhar Card or UAN interface.
What If My Aadhar Details Is Correct?
The current procedure is to make a receipt of a joint request of the employee and the employer as well along with some required documents.
No More UAN Helpdesk & Joint Declaration
There are many members who complaints that while they try to update their name, gender or DOB details, they end up with nothing but an error, every time. Currently, there are two methods that are running in order to update details:
- UAN Helpdesk
- EPF Joint Declaration
UAN Helpdesk – Currently, This facility is not working properly, according to visitors. When the EPFO has launched the UAN Helpdesk, the motive behind was to make the process of updation easy.
EPF Joint Declaration – The second and last option was to get details update through the employer which takes some time because it requires a joint-request to the concerned EPFO field office by employee and employer both.
As we told you, one of them is not working properly and the other one is a time taking process which can easily take 10 to 15 days in order to update the details.
So, to make the process much easier and without papers and hard work, The EPFO has now introduced its new convenience way where an employee can submit an Online Request for Correction in Name, Date of Birth and Gender.
How To Change Name & Update EPF UAN Details – New online procedure
Step 1 – To begin the process of updation, the visitor must go to the official EPFO Unified Portal.
Step 2 – Now the visitor has to make himself login using their login credentials.
Step 3 – Now when you are on the main page go to the main menu and search for the MANAGE tab where you’ll see a drop-down menu which itself contains three different tabs from which you have to click on the “MODIFY BASIC DETAILS”.
Step 4 – A new window will now pop up where you can enter your correct details (as per Aadhar).
Note: If the visitor didn’t link his/her Aadhaar with their Universal Account Number, they can also provide the details here
Step 5 – Now, when you successfully filled in your details that have to be updated like Name, Date of Birth or gender details, Hit “UPDATE DETAILS” button.
Step 6 – Your provided details will be now scanned and matched with your UIDAI – Aadhar Data
Step 7 – After successful verification of the details, the request that you make will automatically be transferred to the employer for further approvals.
Step 8 – The employer will now approve it and forward it to the regional EPF office (online) so the EPF authorities will make corrections.
Step 9 – Now, The role of “Dealing Assistant” in this process is that he/she can place the online request for Approval either Rejection. All this process is done by selecting the appropriate option, with proper remarks.
Step 10 – There is an option for the employees that they can delete the request before the employer submit it to the EPFO.
How To Delete Name Correction Request In EPF UAN
- The request can be cancelled by going to the Manage tab under the main menu section of Unified Portal.
- Now form the drop-down menu select third option named “Modify Basic Details” and it will lead you to a new page.
- All the Pending Requests will be available on your screen.
- Here on the new screen you can Withdraw/Delete the online request
Aadhaar Is Already Verified. Your Details Aren’t Editable?
During the process, if you find an error that ‘Aadhaar is already verified, your details are not editable.’ then it means that your details are already verified with your given Aadhaar number in member portal. So, one can not edit nor update his/her Name, Gender or Date of Birth [DOB] details. (as shown in the image down below)
