Little Information About EPF Form 11

Under EPF, Form 11 is called a declaration form which is launched by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation for the employees, The reason behind was to contain basic information regarding the member/employee by submitting form 11 whenever he/she change the employment in an organization which offers EPF Scheme.

Member Details like:

  • Name
  • Date of birth (DOB)
  • Contact details
  • Details of previous employment
  • KYC details (Aadhar, Bank account, PAN etc).

From now on, The new joiners are no longer have to submit separate transfer claims by using EPF Form-13 after changing organisation/jobs. EPFO has made this entire process much easy by making this process completely automatically.

EPFO has introduced a new & updated composite form named Form 11 which will totally replace present EPF Form 13 in all cases of auto transfer. This was stated by EPFO in an order dated September 20, 2017.

The updated & new EPF Form 11 is now a single page declaration form which is nothing but a simplified/easy version of the existing EPF Form 11.

If you don’t know how the auto transfer works or what is the role of EPF Form 11 in the auto transfer, let us tell you briefly by giving you step by step information.

► If a member/employee quit the previous organisation and joined a new organisation, He/she has to fill in and submit the details using new and updated Declaration Form 11. At which point, where the joiner must have to fill in his/her personal details & previous employment details. The newly joined member/employee should also have to fill in Universal Account Number (UAN) and previous PF number.

► The employer enters the information as given in Form 11 in the employer’s portal.

► Now, The provided data is will be validated with the information that is available against the UAN. If the validation turns into discrepancy, then the employer has to update or verify the provided information.

If, your previous Universal Account Number (UAN) was verified using Aadhar and the declaration by the employer related to transfer request made by the employee using Form 11, it will start the process of auto-transfer which will transfer his/her accumulations made in his/her previous PF account to the new PF account.

► The EPFO will now send an SMS to the member/subscriber about the proposed auto-transfer, The SMS will be sent on his/her mobile number which is registered in EPFO database.

► You can stop the auto-transfer within 10 days after receiving the SMS by applying online or through employer or EPFO office. Else, Do nothing and the auto transfer will be completed, and the first contribution made by the present employer will be reconciled & deposited.

► During or after the transfer of the account, the new employee will be then communicated by SMS on his/her mobile number seeded against the UAN and by E-mail.

► All the process can be done only for the Aadhar verified employees. the member needs to apply for transfer using Form-13. If, the earlier UAN was not seeded with Aadhaar or UAN was Aadhaar seeded but not verified.
